Company history

Holstein Appraisals is a family-owned enterprise that has been providing appraisal services to clients throughout the Southeast since its establishment in 1986. Founded by Richard H. Holstein III, the company leveraged his two decades of experience in the farm credit industry to meet the unique appraisal needs of agricultural clients. Our main office is in downtown Batesburg, SC, in a historic building which was formerly the Western Carolina State Bank. 

Accreditation/Registration

Our key staff hold the highest state level appraisal designation available--Certified General Appraiser.


Richard H. Holstein IV, P.E. holds General Appraisal Certification in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, Louisiana, and Florida.  He is also a registered professional engineer in several states.  

Melanie S. Holstein is a Certified General Appraiser in South Carolina and Virgina. She holds Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification in quality control.
 
We are registered with the Small Business Administration and the VA as a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) for federal contracting purposes.
